The application for electrical is similar to insulation. We have built many components
for high voltage applications. Although ceramic is known for being a very good insulator
with the right coatings and thin film applications these ceramics make very good
conductors.
Because ceramic is very stable you have a strong insulating base to build components
such as circuit boards and semiconductor probes. If you require a particular milli-ampere
to pass through the circuit the thickness of a coating can allow you to reach that goal.
Also several capacitors and resisters are built from ceramic.
